Is Cosmetic Dentistry Covered By Insurance?
Not always. A number of restorative treatments, such as tooth-colored fillings for dental decay, are covered by insurance and also considered highly cosmetic. However, treatment for esthetics alone is not covered by insurance. We want you to love your smile, and we offer a variety of payment options to help alleviate financial stress. Please call our office today if you are interested in learning more.
Teeth Whitening
Whitening is a simple, non-invasive way to enhance the beauty of your smile. Dr. Wasserman is happy to offer this safe and effective treatment to patients throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area.
What Causes Teeth To Discolor?
The most common cause of tooth discoloration is the consumption of highly colored foods and drinks—berries, for example, as well as coffee, tea, soda, and wine. Other causes include aging, certain medications, trauma, and tobacco.
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are extremely thin coverings of strong porcelain bonded to the fronts of teeth. They are used to address a variety of cosmetic issues, and they can dramatically change the appearance of your teeth and overall smile.
Treatment is straightforward and conservative. A small amount of tooth structure, as thin as the veneer itself, is removed to create space for the porcelain. Impressions of your teeth and bite are made, and models are sent to a dental laboratory. There, custom porcelain veneers are fabricated in the color, size, and shape determined by you and your dentist. At your final visit, the veneers are bonded to your teeth using bonding cement.
